How the weather-window estimate works
Each hour starts at 100. We subtract 2 points per °C outside 10–26°C, 1.5 points per km/h of wind above 10 km/h, and 20 points per mm of forecast rainfall during that hour. Scores are rounded and limited to 0–100. Missing temperature, wind or rainfall means no score. A thunder symbol also means no score.
A suggested round needs consecutive hourly forecasts, a score of at least 55 for every hour, wind no higher than 45 km/h and rain no higher than 3 mm in any hour. It must start after estimated sunrise and finish at least 30 minutes before estimated sunset. We rank by the lowest hourly score in the whole round, then rainfall and start time.
This is our uncalibrated comfort-planning heuristic, not an official weather alert, safety assessment or confirmation that the course is open. Lightning, gusts, heat, terrain and local closures can make play unsuitable. Check local warnings and follow course staff instructions. The forecast is not a current on-course observation.
